Yesterday, five children between the ages of 9 and 17 were hurt in a car accident in Goodyear, Arizona. All five children were taken to the hospital and their current injury status is unknown at this time. They were injured in a head on collision that closed Camelback Road in both directions between Litchfield Road and 152nd Avenue. It is unknown at this time whether or not the children were wearing their seat belts.
When children are injured in car accidents it is heartbreaking, but also unnecessary. To a large degree, injuries suffered in car accidents can be prevented by wearing one’s seatbelt, and parents are responsible for making sure that their kids have their seatbelts properly fastened.
We all simply need to live by the following code: “Buckle Up, It’s the Law,” because it actually is the law! This is a must. Car accidents happen every day and the difference between living and dying can be the use of a seatbelt. The difference between walking away uninjured or with minimal injuries can also be the use of a seatbelt. Wearing your seatbelt is simply the smart thing to do and, without question, you should always buckle in your kids.
No one expects to be involved in a car accident, but horrible accidents happen to good people everyday. You simply just do not know when it is going to happen, so always wearing your seatbelt is just something that you should do.
